Snow in Bow…

??????????

…and Bow in snow… 🙂

Whoaaah…. it’s gone!

It was one of those moments – a half dozen swans had just flown over my car – the light catching on the underside of their wings – and it woke me up from my driving-home stupor and made me conscious of what was going on around me – beauty everywhere!

So I’m taking my walk through Fairhaven this morning – heading towards the boardwalk – and suddenly I come upon a big empty space where one of Fairhaven’s landmarks used to be… Whoaaaaah!!! Reid’s Pipeworks is gone!!!… burnt to a crisp last Sunday. With its rich rusty colors, Reid’s had long been used as a backdrop by seniors needing their yearbook photos. It is a sad day in Fairhaven.

Frozen Lake Padden and Zombies

??????????

So I’m sitting in Tony’s Coffee Shop and this man comes through the door – covered in blood – looking like he’s had a really bad day. “You alright?!” I ask, ready to put my training in First Aid to work. He laughs.  Turns out Andy just ran in the Zombie Run to help raise money for the Max Higbee Center http://www.maxhigbee.org/zombies-have-hearts-too-5k-runwalk.html.

Met Ken on my boardwalk walk – he set up his camera to take a time lapse photo of the sun on the Canadian Coastal Range. He tells me he’s been all over Bellingham in the last couple years, taking time lapse photos. That’s kind of cool.

Went to Lake Padden after my walk in Fairhaven, and found a lake of ice waiting for me… beautiful, beautiful…

There’s a story here…

Saw this in our local cemetery – and there was just something really poignant about the Seahawks celebration on this grave – it touched my heart. I picture a much-loved grampa, sitting around a television with his family, watching the Seahawks play. Sharing the highs and the lows of Seahawks football. And then – a year before the Sehawks make it to the Superbowl – Grampa passes on. His family wants to celebrate with Grampa – wants to include him in the party – and they bring out the balloons and the pom poms and let Grampa be part of the party. Grampa would have loved this…

Go Seahawks!

Our beloved Seahawks are playing in the Superbowl tomorrow, and the “Twelfth Man” is doing his part…
